Generator head manufacturers

When sourcing a generator head, the most critical factor is the Power Output (kVA/kW), which must match your prime mover's capacity. You must specify the Excitation System, typically choosing between Brushless (AVR controlled) for low maintenance or Brush types for simpler applications. Additionally, verify the Insulation Class, where Class H is the industry standard for high-temperature resilience, and ensure the Protection Grade is at least IP23 for standard industrial environments to prevent moisture and dust ingress.

Compatibility depends on the SAE Housing and Disc Couplings. You must confirm the SAE flange size (e.g., SAE 1, 2, or 3) and the flywheel drive plate dimensions to ensure a seamless mechanical fit. Furthermore, verify the Speed Rating (RPM); a 4-pole alternator requires 1500 RPM for 50Hz or 1800 RPM for 60Hz output. Mismatched speeds will lead to frequency instability and potential equipment damage.

For global trade, the generator head must adhere to IEC 60034-1 (Rotating electrical machines). If exporting to Europe, CE Marking is mandatory, covering the Low Voltage Directive. For the North American market, UL or CSA certification is often required. Ensure the supplier provides a Test Report for each unit, covering dielectric strength, winding resistance, and voltage regulation accuracy (typically ±1% or better).

Generator heads are versatile: Single-bearing designs are preferred for direct coupling in compact gensets, while double-bearing designs are used when the alternator is driven by a belt or a flexible coupling. For Marine applications, ensure the unit has anti-corrosion coatings and specialized windings to resist salt spray. For Telecommunications, prioritize units with Low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD <5%) to protect sensitive electronic equipment.

Utilize Third-Party Inspection services before the balance payment is made. Request a Load Bank Test video from the supplier showing the unit running at 100% and 110% load. To secure your transaction, use Secured Payment services on Made-in-China.com, which protect your funds until the shipping documents are verified. Always confirm the Copper Content of the windings, as some low-cost suppliers may use copper-clad aluminum (CCA), which significantly reduces lifespan and efficiency.

Generator heads are heavy and contain sensitive copper windings. Insist on Seaworthy Vacuum Packaging with silica gel desiccant to prevent oxidation during long sea voyages. The units should be bolted to Fumigated Wooden Pallets or packed in Reinforced Plywood Crates. For shipping to landlocked regions or urgent projects, compare Multimodal Transport options, but ensure the Bill of Lading clearly states the weight to avoid port surcharges.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for Spare Parts Kits (such as extra AVRs, Rectifiers, and Bearings) to be included in bulk orders. Ask for OEM/ODM customization if you require specific paint colors or brand labeling. On Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers with a history of high-volume exports, as they are more likely to offer Volume Discounts (typically 5-15%) and stable lead times.
