Solar fishing light manufacturers

When sourcing solar fishing lights, prioritize IP68 waterproof ratings to ensure the device can withstand prolonged submersion or heavy sea spray. Look for high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panels which offer better conversion rates in low-light conditions. The battery capacity should be at least 2000mAh to 5000mAh using LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology for longer life cycles and safety. Additionally, verify the luminous flux (lumens); for underwater fish attraction, a brightness of 1000-3000 lumens is typically required to penetrate deep water effectively.

Green light is the industry standard for attracting plankton and baitfish in both salt and freshwater. White light is excellent for general illumination and attracting squid, while Blue light has shorter wavelengths that penetrate deeper in clear ocean water, making it ideal for deep-sea predatory fish. Ensure the supplier uses high-intensity LED chips (such as Cree or Bridgelux) to maintain color purity and brightness over time.

For the US market, FCC certification is required for electronic components, and RoHS compliance is essential to ensure the absence of hazardous substances like lead or mercury. For the EU, look for the CE mark and REACH certification. Since these products contain batteries, they must have UN38.3 test reports and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) to be legally transported via air or sea freight.

Request salt spray test reports (typically 48-96 hours) to ensure the casing and connectors are corrosion-resistant, especially for marine environments. The housing should be made of UV-stabilized polycarbonate or marine-grade aluminum. Ask the supplier for the LED decay rate; quality lights should maintain 70% brightness after 30,000 hours of operation.

Shipping batteries is strictly regulated. You must ensure the supplier provides proper dangerous goods packaging and works with freight forwarders experienced in Class 9 hazardous materials. Always confirm that the battery capacity is clearly labeled on the product and outer carton to avoid customs seizures or shipping delays.

Start by requesting a sample order to verify build quality before committing to a bulk purchase. Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price; ask for volume-based discounts (typically 10-20% for 500+ units) and try to negotiate spare parts (1-2% extra units) to cover potential defects. Mention that you are looking for a long-term partner to encourage better initial pricing.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This ensures the goods meet your specifications and the waterproof integrity is verified before the final balance is paid.

For small to medium batches, DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is often the most convenient as the supplier handles all customs and duties. However, for larger sea freight orders, FOB (Free On Board) gives you more control over shipping costs and logistics. Ensure the HS Code (typically 9405.40) is correctly declared to avoid tariff disputes at the destination port.
