Van home manufacturers

When evaluating a Van Home, prioritize structural integrity and insulation. Ensure the chassis is made of galvanized steel to prevent rust and that the wall panels use high-density polyurethane (PU) or rock wool for thermal efficiency. For electrical systems, verify the use of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries and pure sine wave inverters to ensure stable power for sensitive electronics. Plumbing should feature PEX piping and dedicated fresh/grey water tanks with food-grade certifications.

Compliance varies by destination. For the US market, ensure the unit meets RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association) standards or NFPA 1192. For the EU, look for CE marking and compliance with EN 1645-1 for habitation requirements. Crucially, all electrical components must be UL or ETL listed (US) or VDE certified (Europe) to pass local building or road safety inspections.

Request a water spray test report to ensure the unit is 100% leak-proof under high-pressure conditions. The exterior paint or cladding should have an anti-UV rating to prevent fading and cracking in extreme climates. Additionally, check the wind load resistance (typically should withstand at least 100km/h) if the Van Home is intended for regions prone to high winds or for frequent highway towing.

Focus on modular interior layouts that allow for flexible use cases, such as mobile offices or holiday rentals. Discuss off-grid capabilities, including the wattage of monocrystalline solar panels and the capacity of inverter systems. Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com can provide CAD/3D design services to adjust window placements, insulation thickness, and internal finishes based on your specific target market needs.

The biggest risks include damage during maritime transit and non-compliance with local road legality. To mitigate these, ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty internal bracing and shrink-wrap protection for shipping. Always verify the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) requirements with your local DMV or transport authority before the unit leaves the factory to ensure it can be registered.

Given the volume, 40HQ containers or Flat Rack containers are standard. Negotiate for FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder, as this gives you better control over the last-mile delivery and customs clearance. If you are new to importing, CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is easier, but ensure the insurance policy covers 'All Risks' specifically for oversized machinery/housing.

For high-ticket items like Van Homes, use secured payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Implement a staged payment plan: 30% deposit, 40% after successful third-party pre-shipment inspection, and 30% upon presentation of the Bill of Lading.

Van Homes may be classified under HS Code 8703 (Motor vehicles) or HS Code 9406 (Prefabricated buildings). The duty rates differ significantly between these categories. Consult a customs broker to determine the most accurate classification for your country to avoid anti-dumping duties or unexpected tariffs, especially regarding steel or aluminum components.
